This is me messing with the nom nom pencil brushes in Painter 11. My favorite part is Oliver's wings. I have no idea what Oliver is whispering into Ace's ear. So the composition is excellent - both characters really draw your eye naturally to the centre of the piece, and force attenuated by the use of colour in the eyes. The black/grey/white colours in the rest serve to give the piece a macabre edge, befitting the theme neatly. Both characters convey excellent expressions in their faces and their whole bodies and fit well together. The exquisite detailing on the wings and in the hair really does show through, and keeps the picture interesting and engaging away from the main focus. In short, it is a focused picture with plenty of things to delight the eye, even away from the centre.
