I don't see what the point of having a subby is anymore. All the unsubscribed members get the same perks, just with a few advertisments thrown in.

I think that deviantART is trying to make it universally more user friendly.

Just because us subbed people don't get as many perks anymore doesn't mean we should throw a sitewide tantrum--oh, wait, nevar forget april fool's with all the complaints about the icons changing.
